Memory For Bulldozer or Ivy Bridge?

I'm buying the parts for may next system build a little at a time. I'm noticing that there are a lot of deals on 1.65v DDR3 memory right at the moment. I wanted to scoop some of those up, but I'm concerned that it won't be usable for a new Bulldozer or Ivy Bridge system. I've searched and only found vague refrences to a lack of compatibilty. Anyone have some more educated insight?

Well considering that Sandy Bridge is supposed to work on 1.5V memory instead of higher V memory, I'm thinking that you should pass on the 1.65V sticks. doubtful that ivy Bridge ramps up the voltage compared to its predecessor.

Wikipedia states Bulldozer has native support for DDR3-1866.

Might want to look for ram that would be happy at that speed, and I agree with ensign_lee skip the sticks running at 1.65v.

well , most of the 1.65 sticks are ddr3-1600. more than likely sticking them in a ivy bridge machine at 1.5v will make them ddr3-1333

they are basically just overclocked pre-tested sticks, since almost all 1333 ram rated for 1.5V runs 1600 @ 1.65

Ivybridge LGA2011 will be quad channel, LGA1155 won't change. Also consumer Bulldozer will be dual channel as far as we know, while the server Bulldozers for G34 will be quad. Not that the additional channel or memory speeds are going to be worth the premiums except for those edge cases which make people buy a 990x.
