A friend of mine as and old HP with a 845 chipset and is looking to get new ram so I picked some out for him here:

But I wasn't ever really an Intel guy and I forgot how finiky ram was back in the day, and the retailer sent him a reply that the 845 wouldn't work with that ram and offerend him more expenseive 32x8 double sided sticks instead. I'm wondering if they are right on that or just trying to sell more expensive stuff?
