memory DS or SS best

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if running 2-512 Cosair DS in Dimm 1 and 2 for dual memory would be better than what I have right now (Cosair 256mb in each dimm SS) When it boots up for clocks down to ddr333. Is this because I am using all four dimms and would this happen if I only used 2-512 DD ddr??

2x 512 mb sticks would be best for Athlon 64 systems.If you fill up all 4 slots, the speed gets reduced to 333 on all A64 mobos.
 
That is what I thought but does it matter it the 512 dimm is DS or SS. I can only fine DS at local store

You can run 2 sticks of double sided 512. Most 512 sticks are double sided anyways. It's rare to find a single sided stick of anything higher than 256.
 
Okay that is what I will plan on doing to get the ddr400 speed. Can I use a SS 256dimm in another slot to give me 768 mb(512 and 256) until I can afford to get another 512 dimm?
