Memory dilemma

I am building a new Core2 Duo system (which I plan to overclock), and don't know which RAM would be the best choice:

- CORSAIR TWINX Matched DDR2 2x1024MB 800Mhz XMS6400 HSP 5-5-5-12

or

- OCZ 2x1024MB 800Mhz PC6400 DDR2 Platinum XTC Series 4-5-4-15

Both are about the same price. I have totally no idea which are the best memory timings, and don't know if the brand makes any difference.
And a last thing: is there a noticeable speed difference between 667 and 800Mhz memory?

Your not gonna see a huge difference between the two, although they may over clock differently.

Just get the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 with 4-4-4-12 timings.

Timings are not as Critical as Adaptability...... The Best Memory Runs Micron Chips......

The Corsair that you are specing runs Elpida Chips......... they are adequate... but not particularly Adaptive..... Micron chips allow you to vary how you Run Your Memory.....

Micron also has the Overhead to Overclock better if you chose to do that.....

Anything in this list is Quality Memory... Micron Chips
