Hmm... this could be kind of hot depending on who the memory is made by. The last page, right side about midway through the page, who is it made by?

Probably KY Byte. Unsure of who chip manufacturer is. The prices are pretty cheap after the rebate.

I don't remember seeing a rebate for it. All I remember was seeing 256 MB PC133 SDRAM for $34.99 and then you get a 128 MB PC133 instantly for free.

The memory is branded as CompUSA but it is made by PNY. Most of the CompUSA/PNY RAM I've gotten from CompUSA has Infineon or other high quality chips.

Okay I picked up the ram, it's Compusa Preimum memory. I don't know if they had much choices, but the package that THEY brought out to me was a 256mb Stick by Samsung made in Korea, and another stick also made in Korea by Inferon. Hope this helps! The memory runs great, upgrading from 128mb to 512mb is SWEET! Especially running under Win2k (dual p2-450)

I have bought about 512mb worth of PC133 RAM from CompUSA (under the brand CompUSA).

The first 128mb stick was NOT Infineon.
The 2nd stick was a 256mb megger. I sat there at the CompUSA RAM racks and looked at each box. Each box has a plastic see-through window that lets you see the RAM chips. The RAM chip was labeled Infineon. You betcha I grabbed this stick.
The 3rd stick was a 128mb stick. It was Infineon. After putting this stick in (to make my system have a total of 512mb), my system became unstable. Somehow (after some playing around with the BIOS settings like RAM CAS latency) I got it to run at CAS-2 without crashing. :)

If I wasn't lazy, I'd take out that non-Infineon ramstick and see what would happen now. Too bad I'm ultra lazy ;)

It is at CompUSA B&M

Buy a 256 stick of CompUSA branded memory for $34.99 get a 128 stick of the same stuff for free. It could also be an on-line deal, I dont remember seeing anything that specifically stated in-store only. No Price-matching or MIRs are required for this price.

As some people stated, you can find some quality chips on the RAM, just requires a little digging in the pile.

The deal was in the Sunday flyer, SKU #s are

256 stick......280702
128 stick......285656

Prices are good 12/30/01 thru 01/05/02

Jumped on this deal today in Lexington, KY. At noon they had lots left of both chips. My 128MB is an Infineon - the 256 has no name (that I can see). Gotta love these "instant" freebies!:)

The comp USA here in Woodbridge VA has Micron 7.5ns chips on the 256mb stick and Infineon 7.5ns chips on the 128mb stick. I had the clerk look thru the box and he said they were all the same as described above

I have the Micron 256 in my system now and it does run CL2 @133
but Sandra lists it as CL3 up to 133mhz
