hey everyone, Im wanting to grab some DDR ram justnow before the rumoured price increase kicks in properly (any excuse to get an upgrade perhaps... ;))

I dont know what sort of RAM to actually get though. I know as much as i wanna get some PC2100 but im not sure about some of the other features.

Heres the two specs from the crucial site;

(1) DDR PC2100 ? CL=2.5 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 64
(2) DDR PC2100 ? CL=2.5 ? Unbuffered ? ECC ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 72

Should I go for 1 or 2?

Im probably going to be getting an Abit KR7A-Raid or an Asus A7V266E, would it make a difference what ram to get depending on the motherboard?

Both types of ram are v.similar prices so it doesnt make a difference in that respect. Does anyone have any opinions on the boards that im considering getting as well?

cheers everyone
C.

Hey buddy... 32Mx72 is parity ram, and is used mostly for servers... is slower, and more stable, but a bad overclocker...

You want the 32Mx64 ram.... number 1....
