memory and motherboards

I have seen some reviews that say some voltages need to be changed with certain memory modules. I would like to know what 2Gb(2x1gb)-pc2 6400 modules would work in the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L? I am not going to do any gaming and I don't want to have to change any voltage to get the memory to work.I just want a good memory brand that would work.Thanks I did try the Asus site but they ask for serial # date of purchase and so on which I haven't purchsed yet.

Usually the mobo sight will list memory compatibly. Then, which ever will work on your mobo, go to that memory sight and see what they recommended for the voltages to be run at for that memory.

Basically its a information hunt.

Hi,

you want memory that runs at the standard JDEC 1.8v.

Kingston memory would work fine, just make sure to match the product number:

I am looking at the Intel E5200 proc. and the Gigabyte GA G31Ms2l MoBo and was thinking of the OCZ 2g800R22GK for the memory which I see at Newegg for around $20 after rebates.

That memory needs 1.9V or more....and it looks pretty high powered for an IGP system like the one you are building.

HOWEVER, that memory is specifically listed on the QVL by Gigabyte:

I know the P/S might be a little overkill but for the price I thought it would be OK.

DS: Double sided, which is pretty standard.

the "V"s are "check marks" from that link I sent, meaning that the memory will work in both single channel and dual channel mode.

Yes, it is exactly the same memory you posted, which is surprising...usually it's difficult to find the memory on a QVL.

I am going to use the Asus P5KPL-CM Intel G31 motherboard with the Intel E5200 windows XP Pro 32 bit and would like to know what 2Gb kit would I need to purchase? I am pretty sure I will use the PC 2 6400 but not sure about the CL and timings.I think a while back someone mentioned the 4-4-4-15 but not sure of that or the voltage.Thanks
