memorial day

jaded dates pass through the clander this monday

once valiant reminders of what valience once meant.

those who recognize and know of its meaning are many times far far away.

lives lost. lives gained. lives lived day by day.

Inconsequential, detremental, all left jaded in a monday

white suits and strached uniforms.

men and women ready and willing to at their best perform.

now silent, embittered, or still stick in the past.

silence we give them, for they guarenteed our present, our freedoms now so vast.

so if you will, as jaded these thoughts may be, give them a moment

they gave some or all for your life to be without flaw,

on this day,

thank them in your own unique way.

basically, the most respectful thing you can do imo is honestly think about those events for a little while

cliche's make an already jaded event even duller.

I'll be remembering the fallen by doing what they would have done if they survived the battles -- getting drunk and partying.
