what kind of gas mileage do those bikes get?

depends how you ride! If you redline the bitch in every gear, you can get mileage like a car. If you ride conservatively, ~30-50 mpg.

another thread put the thought in my head of getting one as a daily driver (when not raining). part fun, part save on gas.

is that a stupid idea that I should just put out of my head or should I continue the thought?

how much is insurance?

bikes are a great daily driver. Insurance depends on how your company classifies the bike (i.e. supersport bike, street bike, cruiser, etc. VS. CC displacement). If you have any points on your license, insurance is going to be tough. The older and smaller the bike, the less your insurance is going to be.

bmacd, is it hard to get a motorcycle driver's license? i actually want to get one for daily driving as well (when its not raining). usually from home to work/school. I am a big guy, 6'3" - 210 lbs. so I am guessing the ones with the smallest engine won't be a good investment for me?

Out of curiosity,
was there someone riding a black Hayabusa? I saw a black rider on a black busa in canton yesterday afternoon. Not something you see everyday 🙂

1) I'm still living in Oakland County, but the party was on the Eastside...Warren to be exact (Maccomb County ?).

2) getting a license is easy provided you have a good head on your shoulders and understand rules are provided for a reason. If you break the rules, you will die, plain and simple. There are plenty of great bikes to learn on, and a 500cc bike would be a great start for you. The_Good_Guy here on ATOT still pimps his GS500 around and he's had it for a few years now. If you're looking for a sportbike styled bike, Kawasaki makes a great Ninja 500.

3) Jojo is single and just as good looking in person. 🙂

There were 3 or 4 busas there, none of which were solid black that i can remember... Besides, Pilgrim Motorsports is in Plymouth, not too far from Canton, so maybe he bought a new bike? I dunno...there are more solo riders throughout the state than club members...
