Memorex 52x CD-RW drivers?

I posted this in the wrong forum earlier so I think it got deleted... But does anyone know where I can find the newest drivers for the 52x CD-RW drive from Memorex? I didn't install any of the nero software or anything so i'm just looking for the newest drivers. I Thought i read on here somewhere that the newer drivers really help out the burner. So any help is appreciated! Thanks!

You don't need any "drivers" for the drive to get it to work normally as a CD-ROM drive in Windows. The operating system will detect the drive automatically and install its own drivers.

However, in order to burn CDs, you will have to install some type of burning software such as Easy CD Creator, Nero, etc.

Perhap your referring to the drives firmware, or even the OS's ASPI layer?

As said, you don't need any specific drivers to use a CDRW in any semi-modern OS.

well basically any kind of drivers/firmware or anything. I just thought I read somewhere that the updated something would make it run faster or something.

Ahh..that makes more sense.

What you read was referring to an update to the drive's firmware. I may be wrong, but I think it was possible to upgrade the firmware of the 48x to the 52x. Basically, the 48x and 52x are the exact same drive, except the 48x comes with firmware that limits the max burning speed to 48x. Therefore, you could buy the 48x, get the correct firmware, and upgrade it to a 52x CD-RW.

But since you have the 52x drive, there is no need. Also, 52x is the highest speed currently possible by today's CD-RW drives.
