Memorex 2.4x DVD+RW 25 pack $10

I should pick some of these up, I like to multisession my discs, but apparently that's not good for DVDs or at least my DVD drive won't pick them up (even if it was burned in that drive!😕 )

>Where can you buy +RW's for cheaper the 40 cents per disk ?

Though Memorex deal is a decent one, you may want to look at this

These are 4x Ridata discs 50/17.99 (15 MIR). I have both Memorex and Ridata. For speed and compatibility, Ridatas are better.

I have a bunch of these as well as the Memorex 4X +RWs. They are not good. About 25%-30% of all my burnt discs have gone bad. I guess these are okay if you don't care about your data and the amount of time wasted, but you'd be better off getting GQ disks at Fry's.

How can disks be that bad? Are you guys burning them at the rated speed?

Well, it depends how you look at it. I would go for 4x Ridata over 2.4x Memorex anyday even with rebate hassle. Amazon had it in stock when I posted that link.

what if they burn at 2.4x regardless
different burners are different
rebate hassle? and how about waiting to ship, oos, backordered, and no tracking info hassles?

I have both, considering it takes 50 minutes to burn / verify at 2.4 and 23 at 4x? At your 4th disc you will be HITTING yourself for not getting the 4x.

I got these 2.4x DVD+RW for a present, and it does take a very long time to write & verify the data. 50 mins sounds about right.
They do burn with no errors though. Might try to burn them when you go to sleep... and hope it turns out good in the morning. 🙂
Might also use them with packet writing software... but I like 8x DVD+R better for backups. In 50 mins I could backup almost 50GB instead of 4.7GB

trying again
what if i edit: bolding paid for 4x but only get 2.4x burn? be kicking a lot harder
nobody even talk about who makes these
memorex is a rebrander
i bought a pack of twenty-five a few months ago @ om: philips
who makin them now? might be ritek?
now what?

I'm not sure what you are asking.

The 2.4x I got from Compusa were Memorex - CMC inside.
The 4x I got from Amazon were Ritek. Riteks are Ritek inside. They don't rebadge.

You said you got Philips, last time I checked Philips were rebadged CMC too.

Buying 2.4x when you have a 4x drive just cuts the life of the drive in half. It's not a wise decision anyway you look at it.

"last time I checked Philips were rebadged CMC too."
those were r.
i said they were identified as philips

"I'm not sure what you are asking."
i'm asking what if the ritek burn at only 2.4x? what hoppen then?

I'd be happy if Ridata actually put a label on those disks....it's frustrating to have a blank disc with no label...... 🙂
