With college football in full swing, I constantly think back to the Mich v Mich State game disaster last year (disaster in the sense I'm a Mich fan :)). It got me thinking what other sports plays I can actively recall that have made a big enough impression on me to still recall them to this day.

Immediately, I could only think of one other... and it was the double overtime playoff goal by Steve Yzerman against the Blues back in 96...

I figured thanks to YouTube, we could share some of these plays. I know for the above, I was blown away and watching the game live ... I still remember it even though I was only 12 at the time.

Anyone else have any situations like this they can recall clearly? You must post the play so we can all share in the event! Also, if you weren't alive last year and managed not to hear about the Mich v Mich State, here it is in all of its infamy:

This thread is already dirty.

EDIT:

I guess I'll also comment on the play last year... I left the restaraunt we were watching the game at, fully satisfied Michigan had the game in hand. We were in Ann Arbor (yay tailgating) and wanted to avoid the onslaught of traffic when the game ended. I was listening to the rest of the game on the radio when the play was unfolding. At first, I thought he was joking... like what he was saying just didn't seem real or possible (alcohol may have influenced that...). I remember just getting home and going to bed... Luckily when I went to work the next Monday, I didn't get a lot of crap from all the State fans.

I was at this game where Derian Hatcher pretty much destroyed Jeremy Roenick's jaw:

After the hit, Roenick skated back to bench. He was about two feet from the door when he spit out a puddle of blood...for the rest of the game, each time Phoenix did a line change, they had to step over it to get to the bench...hit was early in the 1st period...

looking back at this, you have to be impressed that JR took it like a man...even pulling out the loose chiclets (had 8 broken teeth and a busted jaw) from his mouth...

probably should add this hit was payback for a cheapshot that Roenick took on Mike Modano during a previous game between them

Wow, that guy is a beast to just get up from that impact.

Haha... I suppose they were afraid to show the guy in case he was nude?

That is definitely one of the greatest catches of all time.

Mazeroski. The Greatest Homerun Ever.

The Forbes Field outfield wall still stands in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
