So next to your name is the number of posts and your status. I've been looking for a list of them but I can't seem to find it under any of the FAQ's or Help. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks

*edit Also, what are the requirements for each level?

When it's orange (lit up) it means that person is currently signed on, when it's blue (not lit up) it means they're not.

Also this is why people always say to add Anandtech Moderator to your "buddies" list so that on the left side of the page under "buddies" it'll show when they are signed on or off.

Though that's only for the kiddies trying to get away with stuff they know they shouldn't be doing.

When you reach "Lifer" status, you die.

Yes, you have to give up your life to achieve the "Lifer" status. If you still have a life, you're not a Lifer.

It's apparently a secret as the information isn't available anywhere on the site, you have to search the forum posts to find it.

Just changes when you reach certain post points, Lifer is at 10,000 post for example.

I think Diamond member was 1,000 or something like that.

EDIT: allisolm's post is better.

there is just a certain number for posts or Postcount that you have to reach to get to the next "level".
Don't put too much stock into them though.
The only level you cannot get by post count is Elite... which i would like to know exactly how one gets that. (Elite is given by the Gods (mods) if i can recall correctly.) I have been here for 5 years next month and i still cannot figure that out... nor have i ever gotten a Mod quote :(

I tried searching but I came up with nothing. I had an educated guess what the levels were but I saw someone who was an "Elite Member" so who knows how high it goes?

You get it for being a useful and generally helpful member. Most of the time.
Threads in FI nominating someone for elite are worthless.

That is what i figured. I am just curious because i see several members on here that do not have a high post count yet they are elite and then others have not been around for very long that have elite too... I gotcha though!

The member status is just words for people who do not understand what numbers mean.

For example, if you are a senior member, it means you have 200-999 posts. This wording is necessary for those members who can't understand what that "Posts: 276" means. You see, numbers can be quite difficult for some people. Therefore, coming up with confusing, irregular, and undescribed words which describe these numbers is clearly the only solution.

Speaking of numbers, where's the official Dullard's 2006-2007 fottball preview poll ?

As you can see, even elite members have trouble with numbers. Senior member is the status for those with 200-999 posts.

Member: 20-199
Senior Member: 200-999
Golden Member: 1000-1999
Platinum Member: 2000-2999
Diamond Member: 3000-9999
Lifer: 10000+

I've been thinking about making a week 0 post. But having a thread that says this:
Place / Team Name
1 / Air Force
1 / Akron
1 / Alabama
1 / Arizona
1 / Arizona St.
...
1 / Wisconsin
1 / Wyoming
would be fairly boring. Don't you think? Each team in each division starts out equally in my program. Although each division does start out at different levels. Instead, I'll wait until after some games have been played. Note: I'll be out of town for the first weekend of football :(. Thus, I can't post right away after the games.

The more you posted, the higher lvl you will reach (most common method). And like a game, you gain more skills/power as you reach higher lvl. :D

I guess I've got MAD SKILZ, yo!

Umm...or not. No extra skilz, sorry. which is a shame, cause girls like guys that have skilz. "You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills... Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills."

By that logic, you should be a Diamond member yet you are Elite. How so?

The Elite title is not earned through posts. It is generally awarded for being an especially helpful, upstanding person.
