Hi, I'm kind of new here, not even a member of TA yet, I downloaded the distributed program about 20 hours ago and I have a few questions I hope you guys can help me with-

1. Do I have to wait for 24+hours before I can join TA?

2. Why can't I view my stats at the distributed page?

3. The client program begins R....10%....20% etc. Everytime I turn my comp. off and restart, the whole process begins again, does this mean I lost everything previously done?

Hi, gnoymyguy, here's a link to the TA distributed.net FAQ. From what I've read you do wait 24 hrs before joining TA, the reason you can't view stats might be a delay on the part of distributed.net (I'm not positive on this one), and as long as you are shutting your computer down before turning it off your blocks should not be lost, that's my understanding.

dnet is supposed to save its position... i don't know what the issue might be... weird...

you have to wait for the next stats run after you flush your first set of blocks. if its been restarting all the time, you may not have completed a block yet. once you get one done (100%) tell it to flush by right clicking on the icon and fetch/flush work or something like that. then you have to wait until 3 or 4 am the next day to get your stats, then join TA. hope that helps.

If you are at 30% when you shut the client down it should resume at at 30% when you restart.

try it and see if that is not true

Ans even if it did restart at the beginning (which it should not) but i never shut my computers off ( so how would I know ) :Q

The blocks that are completed are in buff out and will be fine
 
If you want to be sure it never loses place, go to the config menu, and do a go to menu 2-4. This is the checkpoint setting, where you can set it to record at every 10% or 10min, whichever comes first. Just name the checkpoitn file from in there, save, and you're set.🙂

PS Yes, you have to wait ~24hrs. You can't join the team until Dnet does a statsrun with your stats, and that'll take 24hrs on average
