Member Rating and Voting?

I was just wondering if anyone know anything about the member rating. I've looked thru the help file and I can't find anything about it. I am assuming the rating is getton from the votes, but how do you get votes??

People go into your profile and give you votes. Just like I did a minute ago to you. Not everyone has the rating feature enabled in their profile.

When you post this sort of thread you are guaranteed to get people to come by and give you a very low rating so if you see your rating drop really low don't worry about it.

Then i've also got a question like this one.......i'm a junoir member (since yesterday) and this is my second posting.......but i also can rate.......don't get me wrong......it's a pleasure to rate all of you guys, but isn't that a function whitch you must earn?

I guess it just that people would get more votes if they post more, like more chances to be seen type of thing

I don't think you have to earn it...I just noticed I had more votes than I had before, so i was curios.

What's the scale of voting? Someone gave me a 1. Does 1 = excellent? 10 = excellent? Which is it? I just see numbers. What are we rated on? I can give anything a number without first defining what that number stands for. For example, I can give this post a 4, but that doesn't mean anything to you. I could have my own personal system for ratings with different criteria.

I have 1 vote for 1, so 1 must be excellent

I actually give people a vote of 10 (I thought that's excellent) or else I leave them alone. I just have the feature turned on for fun. I don't know or care who rated me one.

10 is the best...1 is bad. Looking over it, if you give someone a rating below the users rating, it will go down and if you give one above it will go up
