all evidence points to the fact that he pretty much told his team to foul hard in the paint, which instigated the brawl. he told anthony "don't go to the basket right now" seconds before the foul took place, as seen on ESPN, hinting as if something bad was going to take place. unfortunately without any hard evidence that he asked collins to do that, he got away with it. i've hated that guy since he was a player.

As I mentioned in another thread ... Isiah has always been a poor sport ... remember walking out on the Bulls when the Pistons were mightily swept in the early 90s?

Keep Thomas as the coach. That way we can ensure that the Knicks finish last in the league. Then Chicago gets their first round draft pick and wins the Greg Oden bowl.

I feel like Isaiah and Nate Robinson should have been suspended the most. Sure, Melo threw that punch but the Knicks, particularly Isaiah and Robinson escalated the whole situation.

Not a bad idea ... :D

A ban from destroying any more franchises might be in order as well. That putz screwed of Toronto for several years ... I celebrated when he finally left.

Yet again the NBA dishes out light punishments.

The NBA is a jungle gym, monkey experiment that is failing. Lock them all back up in the zoo. :p

15 games to Melo for throwing one damn punch? That's f'ing criminal and should be appealed immediately by the players union. Its 20% of the season, equal to 3 games in the NFL and 32 games in the MLB. (and of course would be 0 suspension in the NHL.)

Stern once again oversteps his bounds in an effort to be godfather by imposing his capital punishment for anything that brings negative press to his pansified league. Yes, Stu Jackson is in charge of punishment, altho is nothing less than Stern's call girl in these matters.

I would have liked to see Thomas suspended and fined - he's the one who threatened melo and no doubt encouraged this fiasco.

not to mention the damage to Melo's credibility - he was backpedaling like a CB in football

Isaiah Thomas, thankfully, will never have a job in professional basketball, in this country, again.

How is it sucker punching when someone takes a swing at someone else they're jibing with face to face? When the dude crumbled like a cookie I think Melo knew he screwed up and did the right thing by backpedaling and not pummeling scrawny Jeffries too. To question Melo's toughness is rather ignorant imo.

F**K, Melo is anchoring my fantasy team. I also have JR Smith and Camby AND Curry. I'm lucky it's only melo and jr.

That being said, I don't think 15 games is bad. A punch is a punch and I think stern is on the right track w/ the suspensions for fighting. The automatic technical foul for expressing any emotion after a foul is the biggest thing he did wrong this season. Emotion is part of the game, violence is not.

Three guys from the same team? Bad fantasy management IMHO. Depending on the number of spots you are allowed to play, it makes for a lot of wasted benchings.
