Without irony or malice, I think her personal story is an impressive one. She found a way to America - whatever the means, apparently - and by all accounts worked very hard. The irony of her working illegally is rich, though.

The waiters at my local Mexican restaurant work hard too but INS would deport them if they came across them. INS has spread enough that they don't hang out in the big box store parking lots looking for work like they did in the old days.
