maybe in comparison to the first 2, "Thunderdome" was a bit of a let down, but I still thought it was pretty good.

I had a tough time with the cave full of cute blonde children. If they return to the ethic of the first two it could be good.

That and the fact that he didn't seem to recognize the guy in the flying machine. That just made NO sense.

Mad Max was great. Road Warrior was great. Beyond Thunderdome STUNK! Grace Jones is a horrible actress. She killed one of Arnold's movies too.

Uhhh, think Thunderdome was Tina Turner but Grace in that Arnie movie wasnt so hot.

First part of Thunderdome was good but then they brought in the big eyed waifs.

Oh man, see that movie was so bad I forgot who starred in it. No difference though, Tina wasn't that good either.

No, a bad script killed that movie. She killed a bond movie(and Lazenby wasn't in this one).

OK, it needs to be Max, a new dog, a supercharged car, a road, and a bunch of bad guys that run over people. It needs to be mindless, pointless, gory, sweet violence.

Thing is...since Mel's starting to get up there...Max is now in a retirement home and his jet-car-dune-buggy looks sadly like a 79 El Dorado with landau roof.....

Mel Gibson looks great no matter what.

I hope they don't fsck it up with a bunch of bad CGI and bluescreening. Mad Max deserves real open desert filming, and real explosions done well without computerized effects. And really, that's all Mad Max needs, lots of gunshots and explosions. No lasers or force fields, so I see no need for computers to be involved at all. And I don't wanna see any fakey flames shooting out of a tailpipe either, unless it's on the car of the over-the-top bad guy who uses it to scare the innocent townspeople.

Seeing as how it'll be filmed in Australia, maybe I can at least get real desert out of it. The only problem I see is that Mel Gibson is a damned valuable property to the studio; they may not let him get near anything more dangerous than an unlit match, so I hope they don't do really bad shots of stunt doubles. Or, maybe Mel will say there's no way he's doing Mad Max if all he does is walk around while somebody else does the dangerous stuff like climb stairs for him.

I think this is funny:

The deal marks both the first picture that Miller will direct since the 1998 sequel to his 1995 script "Babe"...

The sequel was so abysmal (not that I watched it or the original) and unrecognizable that they don't even mention the actual name of it.

Oh, forgot to add this...

NEW MAD MAX MOVIE!!!!!

I thought Babe: Pig in the City was wonderful, actually, as was the original. I too was hesitant too see a movie about a talking pig, but both movies are really great.

Less BDS&M and more of the original concept - civilization still exists but with no national government, only localized vigilantism.

I vote HappyPuppy gets hunted down and handcuffed to something about to explode. Who agrees?

:)

I don't think anybody would say that Mad Max is a terrifically thoughtful and introspective series. It's just a really really cool guy with a neat accent, driving powerful vehicles and shooting a lot of people to save the innocent (or at least the not-as-bad-as-they-could-be-given-the-circumstances).

Oh, and I get HappyPuppy's wife.
