I read your criticism of Monty Python in other recent topics and I'm not sure what your point is.

Your first list might be too cerebral for most and the second list, while entertaining in it's own right, seems to be geared towards nosepickers who like to light their farts and eat Cheetos.

To each his own, without scorn or shame.

<< When did you become a movie critic? >>

After watching both the Life of Brian and the Meaning of Life I came to the conclusion that both movies sucked.

That doesn't answer my question. It's too bad you have no idea what goes into making a movie. Otherwise your opinion might mean something to me.

Do you have any idea how stupid that sounds? How can you make that judgement if you also have no idea what goes into making one? Like I said. If you actually knew something about the subject, your opinion would actually matter.

Not as stupid as this does

<< How can you make that judgement if you also have no idea what goes into making one >>

According to you unless we know what goes into making a movie we haven't the ability to say whether a movie is good or not. FYI, I know as much as most about what goes into making a movie which isn't very much. We just see the finished product and in the case of most of Monty Python's finished products they suck.

Mel Brooks movies are great!

I've tried to get into watching Monty Python. I've always turned off the TV after about 15-20 minutes. I see no great humor in Monty Python.

As far as English comedy goes Benny Hill was by far much funnier than Monty Python

"he rode a blazing saddle,
he wore a shining star.

he conquered fear and he conquered hate
he turned dark night into daaaay!
he rode a blazing saddle

I must admit that english Humor takes a bit of getting used to. And the two types of humor you compair are quite differant IMO.
I like Mel OK. But there is something more cerebrial (SP) about Monty Python's humor.

Though the life of Brian and the Meaning of life are NOT my favorite MP films. THG is one of my all time fav's!

(What kind of cheese shop IS this??)

If you knew how to read, you'd know that I didn't say that. I said if you knew more about the subject, your opinion would matter. I didn't say you couldn't form an opinion, I just basically said who gives a crap what it is. Yes, anyone can form an opinion of the final product, but try picking one apart and see how far you actually get.

Very well said. I agree. I happen to think both Mel and Monty films are both hilarious.

The Holy Grail was a work of Genius.. their only work of genius.

Man I was about ready to rip you a new one until you came up with the little gem. Of course Pulse8, who gives a crap what I think about Monty Python, what you think is what should only matter to you. You know, I think you aren't as much a tool as I thought you were. Of course I've been wrong many times. Have fun disagreeing with me but don't let my opinion get you upset (which it seems to have). Humor is subjective. What I think is funny you might not and what you think is funny I might think is extremely stupid..maybe.

I'm not upset. Just with your rash of movie threads I didn't want it to get to your head. :)
