So I'm sitting at my cubicle and my boss was away from his so I dropped off my letter of resignation at his cubicle. He went to our engineering managers office to call me in and tell me my yearly salary increase (so it would be in private) not knowing I dropped off my resignation letter. That was probably one of the single most ironic moments of my life when he returned to his desk after that moment.

what really would be ironing is if the raise was too good to pass up and his boss accepts his resignation after finding it at his cubicle.

Ha... I quit my first part-time job by dumping off my letter of resignation on one of my coworkers. Didn't have the balls to see the boss, wasn't close to him, so dumped it, left, profit.

Why didn't you tell him you were resigning at the meeting regarding your salary increase?
 
you're a douche for not telling him right then and there. he probably feels a bit foolish giving you a raise, only to have you resign.

He already knew I was leaving, that just made it official as I already told him that. I guess I forgot to mention that in my OP 😱

I give up I guess it was not as ironic/funny/weird as I thought. 🙁 I guess I thought it was ironic because I did it at that exact same moment, I wasn't expecting him to offer me the raise (everyone got a raise here, he was just giving me the documentation for it and I already knew it)
