Does anybody like their new album?
I haven't heard it all, but it sounds decent.

New album is pretty good.

i was very impressed by godsmacks frontman sully. i bought the godsmack changes dvd and there's about a 7 minute drum duo between sully and their regular drummer, it's amazing.

When I saw them in Buffalo with Metallica, Sully and the drummer had a 10-minute drum duel, and it blew my mind. I have to say, I think Sully is a btter drummer than Lars. His double bass speed was phenominal, and some of the grooves he played were just sick. That little duel was easily the best part of the concert, and probably the best part of any concert I've seen.

Yup they did it here in Houston too.. I was really blown away... Sully has nothing to worry about if he fails as a singer any metal band in the world would use him as a drummer..
both were insanely good.. and thier set up sounded 500% better than Lars's at our show... lars's bass was flat and he sounded like he was farting on a snare drum...

Well, OK, except Pert(sp).

just saw Queensryche last night.. they did the entire Mindcrime set. It was awesome! The drummer (Rockenfeld or something like that?) did a great job. ...the replacement guitarist sucked nutz though.

Good song, good album too. The album after that one "Risk" was the suck though, almost threw the cd out the window back in 99 when I bought it and popped it in my cd deck in my car (Same almost happened to St. Anger).

I love the intro to the song "My Last Words" on the album "Peace Sells....".

As far as drummers go, I really like Ted Kirkpatrick from Tourniquet.

Trust is on Cryptic Writings, and does have a nice drum beat. The only song I like on Risk is "Prince of Darkness".

Yeah, that is pretty much the only song worth anything on the album. Crush is catchy as hell, but sucks. I sometimes listen to Crush while I work out cause it gets me pumped (like eye of the tiger or the rocky theme), but besides that I would never give it the light of day.

New album is good though, not as good as Youthanasia or Rust in Pease but still good.

I agree their album compared to St .Anger is no contest. Sorry Metallica but St.Anger sucks bigtime!

You know of Tourniquet?! You, sir, have awesome taste. They are one of the best true metal bands, and yes, Ted is an awesome drummer.

I'll give you Buddy Rich. The rest I would argue. Are they gifted lyricists too?

Mike Portnoy is one of my favorite lyricists; just look at the lyric for A Change of Seasons. Very powerful stuff.

I did not acquire the nick name "Metalmat" around town for nothing ;)
