Mega HTPC Build: CPU Selectoin

So I decided to build an HTPC. I want it to be a "jack of all trades," meaning that I want to do watch blue ray, stream netflix/hulu, watch and record TV, listen to music, burn disks, run freenas, and even do a little word processing/web browsing.

For a CPU I am facing a difficult choice. I am debating between an AMD A10-5800k trinity APU and an intel i3-3225 Ivy Bridge with hd graphics 4000. My question is, which processor should I choose? If I go with the intel, would it be good to get something like a Nvidia GT 610/620?

I know that there are 1000 permutations on this question, but I would really appreciate an answer. Also, sorry for the english, I'm not a native speaker.

@cytg111 If I go the i5 route, would you recommend a discrete GPU?

- depends, with "jack of all trades", is there "heavy duty" gaming involved? If not, then the IGP will be more than enough, but be sure to get Ivey then (stronger igp, cannot hurt).
