this is not the same type of comedy as airplane. there's stupid comedy, then there's comedy for the brain-dead. MTS would fall into the latter category.

Airplane was a classic; while this detritus will be forgotten by the next quarter.

Have you seen MTS? Better yet, have you seen either of the two movies being discussed here? If you haven't. and I doubt you have, then I'd submit that you don't know what the hell you're talking about and your opinion means exactly jack shit.

But then again, that's just my opinion.

I finally got around to seeing I am legend this afternoon & was very surprised to see a large crowd in attendence ... these two piece of crap movies duking it out for ticket sales explains a lot.

(Btw I wasn't crazy about I am Legend either ... lame rip-off of Omega man)

The fact that you're comparing Meet The Spartans to Airplane! seriously makes me want to cry.

Both movies were adaptions of the book I Am Legend.

That's why. During a dead movie period, all the teenagers went to see Meet the Spartans because they couldn't get in to see Rambo.

When I was a teenager I bought the tickets for the PG-13 and snuck into the R.

Omega Man was a lame rip-off of The Last Man on Earth.

Thats not really suprising when you consider how dumbed down America has gotten. Scary Movie was decent....but then the following movies are way to over the top. I can't believe that people went to see that after watching the horrible trailer.

Oh man that's funny.

I have no interest in seeing either though.

But I'd guess Rambo would at least be a little bit more enjoyable.

This is what I love about ATOT. You guys base the entire fate of a nation on what <1% of our population decided to see for their weekend movie.

Oh come on. Rambo? I think Spartans looks retarded. But I would hesitate to watch it over Rambo. I mean, Sly Stone had get a camo walker for this movie!

My kids talked be into seeing "Meet the Spartans". I beg all of you to PLEASE do not spend money to see this movie. It was good for a few laughs, but it was just a horrible movie. Was it me or did it only last like an hour or so? And some of the scenes in the preview weren't even in the movie (like Britney talking to her baby).

Well it's not as if MTS ran away with it, it only beat Rambo by 575K and considering the whole R vs. PG-13 thing, that's pretty good.

I knew Cloverfield would plummet too, down over 68% from last week!!

Stallowned! Or is this reverse-Stallowned? Anyway, he stopped being a big draw in the US a while ago.
