I just opened my MeegoPad T02 Compute Sticks. Got one of them hooked up, default Ubuntu 14.04 didn't want to boot in any reasonable timespan, so I tried installing Linux Mint. That didn't work, due to the "Hybrid UEFI" on these tablet-like devices. (x64 CPU, x32-only UEFI.) Neither the 32-bit nor the 64-bit Mint 17.2 discs worked.

So I pulled out my 32/64-bit Win10 USB stick, and wiped Ubuntu, and put Win10 on. Not sure if I got all of the privacy settings set to "off", but I'm having trouble with device drivers.

There's no video driver (MS Basic Video Adapter), and this is a fairly standard Bay Trail Atom setup, so I'm really surprised. I'm not getting HDMI audio either, because of that.

There are also some other "unknown" devices.

I tried going to Devices and Printers, and right-clicking the icon for the PC, and selected troubleshooting, and it prompted me for each unknown device, to search for device drivers (I am connected to the 'net), but then at the end, it said it couldn't fix any of them.

I was going to attempt to manually initiate a Windows Update, to see if the drivers (mainly the video driver) would come in that way, but I went to Control Panel, viewed by icons, and there's NO "Windows Update" icon. It's just NOT THERE.

What did they do to Windows Update? And how do you manually trigger an update?

Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update.

Virtual meltdown Larry?

I used the search box and typed "windows update", and it finally gave me the widget to update. I did updates, there were six of them, I think, but no driver updates. Sigh.

What's the highest screen size and amount of colors you can get with no video driver in Windows 10?

What does the device manager show for the device ID? Maybe google the device ID?

Did you search Intel for drivers yet? Their site is somewhat unorganized these days.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/pr...raphics-for-Intel-Atom-Processor-Z3700-Series

If you click the driver as in x64, x86 it shows compatible devices. You didn't say what yours was.

Similar device to the Intel compute stick? Windows 10 compatible it looks like.

Advanced Display Properties shows 1920x1080 (native res), greyed out, and no mention of color depth. Display adapter is "MS Basic Display Adapter".

I just downloaded the Intel Compute Stick (windows version) display drivers for Windows 10 32-bit. They wouldn't install. (Installer said that my computer didn't meet the minimum hardware requirements to install.) I found IGPH.INF, right-clicked it, and clicked "Install", and it didn't help.

Btw, THERE IS NO "Display Device" showing in Device Manager. At all.

Edit: Tried the generic Bay Trail Windows 10 32-bit IGP drivers here:

No go.

Solved. Thanks to LonOnTech's YouTube video, which had a link to the official MeegoPad alibaba page, which had a link to http://x86pad.com/ , which had a link to a driver download package for Win10. (All HP drivers, not MeegoPad, as it turns out.)

But at least, now it's snappy (with working video drivers), and has HDMI audio, and realtek audio, and realtek bluetooth.

I'm a lot happier now.

So after installing the Win10 32-bit driver package, including the all-important "soc" driver package (video drivers, SD card reader, etc.), I have been using the Compute Stick, and it's pretty decent.

But I opened Task Manager, went to the Performance tab (with the pretty graphs), and noticed that my CPU was running at 1.32Ghz... all of the time. Even with 2% CPU usage. That's not right.

So I put "power" in the search box, clicked "Power Options", it showed me a screen where I could choose between "Balanced", and "High Performance". It was selected on High Performance. So I selected Balanced, checked that I had monitor timeout set to 10 minutes, and sleep timeout set to "never", then I clicked the back arrow.

Now there's only one power plan, "Balanced". "High Performance" is missing altogether!

I tried closing Power Options, and then re-opening it, still, "High Performance" power plan is no-where to be found!

Do I have RAM or eMMC corruption (possible registry corruption) going on?

Has anyone had the other power plans just up and disappear, once you choose one of them?

Arise thread from the distant past!

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the drivers zip for the late, not particularly lamented MeegoPad T02? The only non-dead link for software I've been able to find is the whole OS:

And I've been having a dickens of a time getting it onto a USB stick and installing.
