Medium rare steaks are disgusting

Pretty awesome considering that cavemen enjoyed better overall health and life expectancy than agricultural societies.

Also, considering that 80 dollar steak places default to medium rare for their steaks, I'm pretty secure in my love of a good rare steak.

Lol, better health for cavemen? No way.

And anyone who pays 80$ for food is a nincompoop.

The fact of the matter is that most good steak restaurants will either have the waiter tell you or have it written on the menu not to cook steaks past medium. You can't argue with that.

Well considering you're in the minority. How does it feel to be wrong?

Minority opinion does not imply incorrectness

My income is in a minority bracket too, does that mean it's bad? Nope.

There is not a national standard on medium rare.

Some places cook it so you barely see pink in the center.

Some other places make the outside look almost black/burnt but the center is still drippy with blood.

Truth is many do not know how to cook but the top reply:
"Some places cook it so you barely see pink in the center." is the proper way to cook it.

my almost five year old triplets eat medium rare steaks. We were at disney and one of them got served something well done and she said. Yuck daddy a dinosaur cooked this...

And, here folks, we have an example of a good parent.

Sounds like you'r getting your steaks from Applebees.

Beef cooked anything beyond medium loses all of the properties of beef. I've also yet to find a single person that didn't have some kind of psychological aversion to medium to medium rare beef, but when they tasted it it changed their way of thinking. There's always a pattern: "I don't like steak, and it's gross if there's any blood." The reason these people hate steak is it's shoe leather by the time they cook the snot out of it.

People I've converted from "I don't care for beef in general" to "I'll take it medium or mid-rare every time!":

-wife
-daughter
-son
-mother-in-law
-1/2 friends at work

People that still hate steak because they can't bring themselves to try medium:

- father-in-law
- boss
- other 1/2 of friends in office

I find this to be true. People who dislike medium rare steaks are generally people who haven't had medium rare steaks and avoid them due to "they are icky" and little else. I was able to convert my GF and her father, but her mother is still hung up on it being even slightly pink inside and that means "raw". I've explained nearly a dozen times, but she just refuses.

My daughter is the same. she will complain if its over Medium rare. in fact she would eat it if rare.

she says "the bloodier the better". yes she is a odd child LOL

I don't know what these people are talking about. Hot dogs are fucking awesome...

Maybe, if you ketchup eating Communisists acted a little more American you'd enjoy hot dogs.

Rare or medium rare depending on the cut. Just have a hamburger if you plan to incinerate your steak rather than ruin the meat 😀
