I need a new computer right away as my current one of three years is having overheating issues. I could fix the overheating issue but it's about time I bought a new comp anyways. Anyways heres my current buy list.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 (939) 3700+ 1MB San Diego - $214.00
MB: EPoX nForce4 Ultra (939) EP-9NPA+Ultra - $101.00
VIDEO: eVGA GeForce 7800GT CO 256MB - $314.00
RAM: OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Platinum - $195.00
HD: Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s - $110.00
CASE: Antec Performance I P180 Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower - $125.00
PSU: FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX500-A, 500W - $91.00
SOUND CARD: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music - $110.00
KEYBOARD: Logitech G15 - $72.00
HSF: ARCTIC COOLING AVC-NV5R3 NV Silencer Rev.3 - $29.00
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro Cooling Fan with Heatsink - $34.99
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - $5.99

Total Cost = $1402.00

Anything I don't need or replace with something better? I plan to use the comp for another 3-5 years and I don't overclock. I will be using it mainly for 3D gaming.

Not bad, but I fail to see the need for a new, $72 keyboard. Nor do you need expensive RAM if you're not overclocking, although that price is not too bad.

what about the mouse ;)

also if your not overclocking get value ram and get an upgraded version
of the processor.

Thanks for the suggestions. The keyboard is a purely luxury item as I already have a basic keyboard and MX-510 mouse.

Will I not see a difference between low latency ram and value ram? The ram listed above is I believe 2.3.2.5 latency.

Also which processor would you recommend? I had looked into dual core but I think for my purposes and budget, I'm better off sticking with a single cpu.

all good but you could stick with value ram and cut back on some cooling/KB expense. stock isn't bad, especially if you don't plan on OCing
