AAAAGGGGHHhhhhhh.

I am under orders to not lift anything heavier than 10-15 lbs until recovery is complete.
That means no dragging hoses outside, anything other than light weeding is discouraged.

Screw the pain relievers, should have prescribed a tranquilizer.

Hm, Civ5 isn't out until September. There's always Civ4 and mods, I guess.

I know the feeling. I had a cerebral angiogram done last month and they had put a Angio-Seal plug in my femoral artery. There was a period of time after that where I wasn't supposed to lift anything over 10lbs, and I couldn't go swimming.

The good news? No brain aneurysm (woohoo!)

Yikes, hope I never end up needing anything like that OP.

Must have to stay away from comedies on TV too, laughing would hurt a ton. D:

Still wearing hospital bracelet.
Yeah it may be just paper and cellophane tape but it's the most expensive piece of jewelry I own!

dude... duuuuude. weak :(

also, with those weight restrictions, i couldnt even fap! :awe:

<weighs weiner>

oh wait, ya i could :(
Edibles man, edibles.
As for the latter, all systems checked out a long time ago, thankyouverymuch.^_^

What was weird was the feeling of small intestines re-establishing their place within the confines, now confined!
Since I had to fast pre-surgery,and I wasn't hungry for a day after, by the time I started re-priming that system, it was moving right on through.

Yay peristalsis!!

Just got told HR won't let me back until the weight restriction is lifted.
So, it's now July 16th for my return.
Instead of June 25th.
At least now the Disability Insurance will be worth the hassle.

You said in your other thread that you only made it to about 96 counting backwards... now are you a quitter? ;)
lol. Right.
Doctor said as I was coming out of anesthesia, I was trying to climb out of the bed. Still out of it, but ambulatory, well, as much as one can be with a 4 inch slit in the gut.
Waking up from that is always a little strange.
Whatever the amnesiac drug is they give is certainly an interesting one.
Better living through chemistry!

I had a couple open-heart surgeries last year for a faulty mitral valve, and the recovery periods were pretty long for each. I was pretty much out of work for 6 months last year, and on light duty for maybe 2 additional months.

Since I was laid out for so long, I ended up buying an ebook reader and a PSP Go, and my laptop kept me busy the entire time playing LoTRO. It kept me entertained, but was I freaking dying to go out and do something.

Since Company is not allowing my return under reducing lifting restrictions, I'm now on Family Medical Leave Act leave.
Therefore, I am now not covered by any company medical or dental plan payment.
I must send a check for $249.xx, to Human Resources for my portion of Insurance not covered, since I am not working.
That's for this month, next month will be due in 2 weeks.
I am a wage slave and there's not a thing I can do about it at this point.

time for a road trip, get on out of that hellhole and visit the PNW:D
Going to Lawson's Landing weekend after the 4th with the extended family. 4 families, dogs, kids... hilarity ensues.

The delay for disability insurance to get filed was 11 calendar days from date of eligibility.
Had to do it all myself, no company HR help at all. The surgeon's office told me after the fact that they usually process the claims by people for State Disability so I might have saved a week or so by starting with them, but who knew to ask them? I sure didn't.
