There are a lot of potential problems. None of them are good. Go see a doctor.

One question. Does your roomate have any ether in the closet?

It could be something as mild a small irritation to an ulcer to any number of other, more serious problems. Get it checked. Better safe than sorry.

Probably hemorrhoids, but definitely go see a doc because it could be a whole number of things. Internet diagnoses by hardware geeks are not usually very useful for medical info. :p

I'm going with the rest of them by saying to get it checked out ASAP. There could be a range of possible problems with a range of severity. At any rate, get it checked. You have no way of knowing otherwise. I don't want to scare you, but no sense in delaying when it could potentially be serious. Good luck! :)

blood coming from there is sometimes a sign of e. coli. Go get it checked ASAP.

could be anything from hemmoroids to ulcer... to worst case scenario.. a form of Crohns Disease. Not pleasant.

Definitely see a doctor and get scoped.

Yeah, I'd say hemorrhoids (sp?) too; but it could be something alot more serious. Go to the doctor ASAP - 3 weeks is long enuff.

You shouldn't wait to see a doctor just because you'll get anally probed. Just hope that he's gentle!

Maybe its your diet, or your wiping habits. <snicker>

Anyway, my bro had to have a hemorrhoid removed recently - it wasn't major but he was in extreme pain for a week or so. At least now he can sit down on the crapper w/o any irritation or pain.

I hope it isn't serious. GL!

Yuto is right, 3 weeks is way too long to let something like this go. Get to a doctor tomorrow at the latest and good luck. :)

If you pass a hard stool... one that requires unusual exertion... it can pop the capillaries lining the chute, leading to blood. That's the "no worries" explanation.

don't let these people worry you. Unsickle's description seems likely, but maybe not for three weeks. Are you under unusual stress? If so, that could be causing some bleeding around your asshole. If you had hemorroids, you would feel a lot more pain when sitting down. If you just notice blood without feeling any pain, you might have an overly sensitve area or even small tear around your asshole, and might be reopening it with every wipe.

I agree with everyone and I think you should go see a doctor. it's probably no big deal, but just in case.

Most likely it is hemorrhoids which is not such a big deal, it can be easily cured. But just to be safe you should get colonoscopy done to see if you have colon cancer, but bleeding is only one of many sympotoms of colon cancer, another common sympotom is change in bowel habits, do you have that, or how about weight loss? But if you are young, say in your late teen or twenties, you shouldn't worry too much, kids rarely get colon cancer!!

by the way it is described to me it sounds like chron's disease, unpleasant and needs to be diagnosed and treated if that is the case, would be wise to be seen

Just in case you were still not convinced, here's one more post for "go see the doctor".

how's your eating habits? i too had bloody wipes for few days, and then forced myself into salad-rich diet for couple of days. i stopped bleeding after that. BUT... when i did bleed, it was painful going #2, because of unusual exertion associated with bad diet.

but since you said you don't have any pain, it could be something serious. hemorrhoids is unlikely, since you have no pain, unless you deal with pain well in general. go get it checked out, it could be early sign of colon cancer. bleeding for 3 wks+ is very bad.
