Medical Marijuana Bill due for vote in House soon

Since early last month we have been alerting our readers about
an upcoming medical marijuana vote in the US House of
Representatives, the Hinchey/Rohrabacher amendment to forbid the
US Department of Justice from using its resources to interfere
with state medical marijuana laws. This amendment would be
consistent with a recent ruling by the US 9th Circuit Court
which found that DOJ interference with state medical marijuana
laws is unconstitutional.

Our sources on Capitol Hill have informed us that the vote will
take place THIS WEEK, possibly even TODAY or TOMORROW. Please
take a few moments right now to visit
http://stopthedrugwar.org/medicalmarijuana/ and e-mail your US
Representative to express your support for the
Hinchey/Rohrabacher amendment. (Please refresh your browser
screen to make sure that you have the current version of this
page.) When you are done, please call the same US Rep. on the
phone to increase your impact even further -- you can use the
Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 -- and e-mail us at
alert-feedback@drcnet.org to let us know you've made your phone
call and to tell us if you've learned anything of potential value
to the lobbying effort.

A sign of how important this vote is, is that a national anti-
drug organization, the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of
America, has sent an alert to their membership, asking them to
write and call Congress in opposition to the Hinchey/Rohrabacher
amendment. Your help is needed to make up for their phone calls
and push the balance to our side. So again, please visit
http://stopthedrugwar.org/medicalmarijuana/ to take action now!

Ya'll talk smack about wanting to shut down Ashcroft, here's your chance. Stop him from trampling over state's rights and patient's rights with his Gestapo tactics.

DRUGS ARE EVIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things the government needs to get out of: telling us what we can watch/listen to on our media, telling us how to treat our own bodies, and telling us what proper 'morals' are.

WTF. A vote for Mary Jane is a vote for Satan himself.
I doubt people who would vote for the Doob would vote for the Dub!

Actually, there are a few (not a lot, but a few) Libertarian-minded Repubs in office who voted yes for Medical Marijuana.

Because that would require them to drop the bong and get off the couch 🙂

Doesn't this bill come up every year? I can tell you this, for every one letter your congressman gets in support, there will be 5 against.

Why?

Read 3 posts up.

I can see it now. A pro pot streaker flashes an irate GWB and the Fox promo screams:

See Dub rubbed wrong by nude dude's rude doob 'tude on the boob tube.

And on CNN, they catch voter's reaction to Cheney's ignorant and profane response:

Loud lewd rube's unglued mood booed.

I am using cannabis for medical reasons right now in fact. 🙂

Because I am a medical user I do not smoke anymore.. I vapourise.
All the benefits, DRASTICALLY reduced risks.

The vapourisation system I use is a bit cumbersome but there is a newer, kick ass German made unit that is much more convienant to use.

As a regular cannabis user I can tell you that the difference in my health between smoking and vapourising is life changing. I will never go back to smoking.

God bless cheeba and Australian drug laws (where I live possesion of 28g or less draws a warning 1st time then 2nd time a small fine) 😀

Sort of. Is that a good enough answer for you? 😀

It depends.... first if you want vapourisation hits that can rival combustion(smoking) hits in sheer power than you basically need either the Vriptech unit(the one I am using) or the more expensive Volcano.
Thats not to say other vapourisers don't work... as long as it's a 'proper' vap (you can find a list of REAL vaps at the first link in my last post.. dont be fooled by the glass dome pieces of sh!t sold at many headshops) it will deliver the THC just fine... for instance I also have a vap called AromaZap which is a small, portable, stealthy unit that works beautifully... however it delivers small hits so it can take 5-10 hits to get a good buzz (the amount of herb used per hit is a fraction of the typical bong cone). I often use this in the car with a DC adapter.

The Vriptech method I use delivers 95% the power (IMHO of course) of the hit of smoking a huge cone does.

As for the actual difference between cannabis delivery through vapourisation and combustion... vapourisation delivers mostly only the THC in cannabis... this is the chemical that gives you the 'head high'... while smoking often delivers more CBD (another type of cannabinoid) than THC.. CBD's are what gives you the lethargic, 'body stone'.. these are what lock you to the couch and make you go night night. 🙂

So, basically, vapourisation delivers more of a 'head stone' (like smoking sativa as opposed to indica) than combustion.

Edit: I thought I'd add that many medical users vapourise to help reduce the pain, stress and help appetite then they'll eat a small amount of brownies/cookies (or whatever) prepared with the already vapourised herb which still contains CBDs which are better for pain killing and muscle relaxing.
Doing this you never actually smoke anything and for medical users it's a blessed alternative to
cocktails of multiple pharmaceutical chemicals that each have their own, often horrible, side effects.

Hope that helps.

Ah, someone the stoners worship. His schtick? Full time drug jokes I presume 🙂

Further evidence that Phokus has glommed onto libertarianism so he can legally smoke pot 🙂

PS to semi-stay on topic, this is a good thing. I'd vote for it. I just think it is hilarious that all the stoners are trying to use this to get their "foot in the door" for pot laws. Most stoners could care less about medical marijuana.

I bet, if there was a law up that said "Marijuana will be legal, EXCEPT for those who are sick", all the "libertarians" would turn 180 degrees.

You've got it all figured out eh alchemize?
Smooth, sophisticated, yet slick enough to catch us all out in the end.
I can dig it daddio. You the man, man.

I've got stoners pretty well figured out, been friends with plenty. Even sampled the magical herb a few times, and quite enjoyed it. I've got Phokus pretty well figured out too. Hypocrits are a dime a dozen, easy to find. I'm probably one too. Hypocrits are just someone who finds their self interests in conflict with their beliefs.

If you think the medical marijuana act isn't entirely funded by organizations that want to legalize marijuana, feel free to prove me wrong.

and its "da man, da man" daddio.

Edit: PS I know I mentioned it before, but let me be even clearer. I 100% support the use of medical marijuana. I just question a lot of the motivation behind it.

Dude just hit up your favorite P2P and download. Bill Hicks has to be experienced by everyone at least once.

I don't care what the 'motivation' is.

Marijuana should completely legal whether for medicinal or recreational purposes, and I'd go as far as to say that all 'narcotics' should be legal simply because it is unneeded government interference in private affairs. The government has no right to tell me what to do with my body as an adult. If I choose to drink and chain-smoke myself into oblivion, they can't do jack squat. Why should it be any different if I decide to snort crack or smoke pot?

This is a repeatedly articulated argument which anti-drug supporters have yet to directly address.

Naturally, age limits should be established, and laws covering, for example, operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

Half-time. He spends the other 50% ranting about the totalitarian scheme to get American Gladiators into every household in America so we think that Kennedy was killed by an echo. Or something like that. I was stoned off my ass at the time I was listening.

I just think it is hilarious that all the stoners are trying to use this to get their "foot in the door" for pot laws. Most stoners could care less about medical marijuana.

Truth be told, I don't do drugs. Wait, that's a lie. Every day I suck down enough caffiene, nicotine, and asptertame to kill a kitten. I also imbibe the occasional adult beverage. That trifecta of lovely intoxicants aside, I don't consume any of the drugs on the controlled substance list, nor do I have much desire to. Please don't automatically write a anti-drug activist off as a druggie just because it seems the most likely reason. There are those of us who seek decriminilization to stem the growing tide of violence and disinfrancisement of our basic civil liberties that are caused directly by the war on Consensual Crimes.

I bet, if there was a law up that said "Marijuana will be legal, EXCEPT for those who are sick", all the "libertarians" would turn 180 degrees.

Actually, I'd fight that one even harder. Denying a sick person a medication just because it has recreational uses would be a travesty. That'd be like making Vicodin illegal for chronic pain sufferers.

And to leave on a lighter note...

"You know, there was rumors of anti-Castro pigeons seen drinking in bars the night before the assassination. Someone overheard them saying 'Coup, coup!'"
- Bill Hicks
