Medical / Legal / Reckless Advice

I was at work tonight...and we had closed, but were cleaning....and this Exhaust Cleaning company was spraying.

They didn't seperate themselves from us, they sat right at our mop area and were spraying degreasing chemicals on parts they took down.

We were filling our mop buckets and the cleaning man kept spraying his chemical, well he moved his wand and hit me in the arm.

My arm was tingling and burning so I had to immediately wash it off.

They didn't stop. They didn't see if I was okay. Nothing.

I really have no idea what they sprayed me with, but it was rather scary, and rather reckless.

What do you guys think? Do you just hope it doesn't have any long term effects / burning or...?

Any advice on the topic would really be appreciated.

Without knowing what's in the degreaser product, it's hard to say what kind of reaction you may have, but washing it well with soap and water, and rinsing VERY WELL should negate any ill effects. Check to see what the product is/was, and what chemicals are involved, and get back to us...

Used a lot of degreaser when working in a kitchen. I'd be much more worried about the fumes than skin contact. Maybe they were using something more hardcore than what we used, though. Kind of irresponsible of them not to ask if you were alright or whatever, but I wouldn't blow this out of proportion.

You're still breathing right now. You're fine. You have time.

You should wait at least a year to get your money. If you do it too soon, you might be looked upon as a money-grubbin female (male?) that has less than stellar qualities.

It'd be best if you waited and claimed degreasing cancer in 2009 just to be safe. At this point you should work on finding a doctor to back up your future claims.
