I really don't think the baby died of "acute intoxication" but from the fact that she drank throughout the pregnancy and the baby only weighed 2lbs. That baby had problems since conception, which was also probably due to alcohol.

That ain't true. I see many people everyday where I work come in for therapy who have real challenges with all sorts of addictions they want to be free from. You or I don't anything about what this woman cared about. God, just shut up.

true. kind of makes you ask yourself what would have been better. the baby surviving and living with probable mental problems with an irresponsible mother, or that the baby died? i hope they at the very least sterilize that woman.

Why? What would have happened if the baby died of "acute intoxication" before being born? Would the mother be charged? Does it not matter that her "criminal" acts took place while the baby was in - and a part of - her body? She got a fetus drunk, and a baby died.

These are questions we would be asking if (as I pointed out above) Illinois did not have a ban on late term abortions.
