In yet another attack on Qualcomm's turf, Mediatek has recently announced that the Mediatek MT6795 is capable of 480 fps at 1080p. For comparison, the flagship iPhone 6 is capable of 240 fps at a measly 240 fps. You might be asking, why? You might not be into sports.

But even more importantly, this marks yet another but significant shift in the high-end SoC space and the slow erosion of Qualcomm's domination. Samsung are already gearing up for a high-end battle and as Samsung are losing sales, other competitors will be more recepting to using their stuff, from AMOLED screens to their SoCs.
