Not a bad deal. Is that an instant rebate, and do you have a link?

QSnexus--Thanks for the mention of the Ritek G04's. Decent enough price for me to be there. 🙂 They always burn at 4x for me with no problems.

I've totally given up on the cheapo junk, white label LONGTEN from Shop4Tech. I tried.....I wanted them to work, and, at 2x they "sort of" usually came out OK. 4X.....no way.

For me, it is worth it to pay the extra $$'s to know they will burn at 4x just fine. The time saved burning from 2x to 4x is well worth it.

I've got a BTC IM1008, BTW. They seem to do a nice job releasing firmware. I think I just got the most recent yesterday....... 0658?

In general, how do you feel about the KHypermedia DVD-R/+R media?

I've always been reluctant to use them over name brand media like Memorex or Ritek. However, I picked up a 10-pack of the KHM DVD+R from OM a few weeks ago, and haven't had any problems. Granted, they are only rated at 2.4x, but speed never has been a big issue for me.

I got 2 25 packs of those, and they were CMC R01 discs. They have attrociously high error rates scanned using kprobe, but they played back fine and have not had one that is unreadable yet (about 4 months now).

now my question: Has anyone bought a pack of those supposed Taiyo Yuden discs from ebay? Are they legit?

Circuit City 32x/700meg CD-R 50-pk / $4.96 (after $10 mail-in rebate). Sold at Circuit City, obviously -- might be B&M only as I didn't see them on their site. They also have OHM 50-packs for $5.99 after rebate. I'm not sure of the quality of these CD's, though.

The actual prices on good DVD-Rs and DVD+Rs at NewEgg at the moment are far lower than most everything in this thread. Just do a search in this Hot Deals Forum for "DVD" and you'll see what I mean.
