Media storage tower

I'm getting tired of flipping through CD wallets, so I want to get something like a bookcase for all of my DVDs, CDs, and games. Regular bookcases are too deep for just storing DVDs though. I've looked at Office Depot and Target so far, but most of their media towers can only hold up to about 100 DVDs. I want something with room to hold at least 200 DVD style cases. Something like this would be nice.

What do you guys use?

I've considered it, but I don't think I could build anything that's actually presentable.

I'm also in the market for a good DVD rack. Unfortunately, whenever I see one I kind of like, they have the pre-formed holes on the inside panels so that you can adjust the height of the shelves. Those are ugly as all hell.

A big stack of jewel cases for the games that came in them, CD folders for those that didn't, and containers of NesQuik for those that suck.

I don't mind those too much because I plan to be filling the shelves so they won't be visible anyways.

Custom built shelves are the way to go. You can fit them to the space that you have, not the size that the manufacturer makes them in, you can make them as short/tall as you can handle, and if you know what you are doing they are soooo much cheaper.

I have slanted ceilings, so I need shorter shelves. I built two shelves, 4 feet high, 40 inches wide and they could hold about 280 DVDs each... at least.

I actually need to build a third one because I'm all filled up.

I like that. I too have many leaning towers of spindles... I wish there was an easier way to deal with all this data.
