Media-hyped McNair ties Legacy-supported Manning for NFL MVP . . . Limbaugh asked to comment

Just kidding . . . I doubt anyone asked Limbaugh to comment . . . but I can imagine what he would he say . . .

Rush: Once again the liberal media as elevated a QB without credentials.

Liberal Media: McNair has the highest QB rating in the NFL.

Rush: I'm sure you people cooked the numbers . . . plus that McNair fellow has a better supporting cast.

Liberal Media: say what?!
I give McNair a slight edge for two reasons. He doesn't have as high-powered an offense to work with, and he has played through a number of injuries. Colts (Peyton's team) wideout Marvin Harrison has the rare combination of being a possession receiver and a deep threat. He has the best hands in the league.
Rush: More liberal distortions . . . Peyton was robbed . . . McNair needs to get off welfare.

I wonder if manning would have gotten this without his "liquored up" kicker.

Limbaugh knows nothing about football. I can't think of another QB who has performed more consistantly this season.

What Limbaugh said may have been relevant in the Doug Williams days..but that was a long time ago. He was shooting off his mouth, interjecting his qausi veiled racist crap in a realm where he was out of his depth.

Earlier in the year (as I'm sure you remember) the colts kicker Vanderjagt criticized manning for being too soft or not showing enough emotion (read as 'not a strong leader' imo). Not a wise move and during the pro bowl manning ripped him calling him "liquored up" and "just a kicker". They considered trading him but didn't.

But this year vanderjagt was perfect kicking field goals, breaking the record for most consecutive made with 40+.

If he wasn't such an incredible kicker ("just a kicker" mind you ;)), the colts could have easily lost a few more games, making them 10-6 or 9-7.

No doubt vanderjagt was an ass, but given that the teams' performance is usually very important in the eyes of the voters, they most likely would have given the award to McNair if they lost a few more games.

Just a thought.

No doubt vanderjagt was an ass, but the differenct between him and an average kicker was probably the mvp award for Manning.

Just a thought.

OK so Manning is saying Vanderjaqt is a "drunK"?

How many close games were there?

All the games I saw they didn't need the FG's to win the game.

All these barbs happened around the time of the pro bowl last year and was a non-issue during the season this year (apparently).

Based on their results, it looks like field goals were critical in about 4-5 games.

I'm not saying the kicker won it for manning, but its ironic how things have turned out.

They both did well. Let's not forget it is a Team effort. My friend jeff (center) had such a great year, last I heard he may be up for Pro Bowl pic, have to see if he made it.

Edit: No he didn't make it :(

Centers (2) Kevin Mawae, NYJ
Tom Nalen, DEN

How did the NY Jets guy beat out Jeff whn the Jets sucked?

If you liberals would get past your hatred for anyone who disagrees with you.. Rush's comments were about DONOVAN MCNABB.. But, since it fits your agenda of hate and misinformation, you somehow bring up his comments in an article about McNair and Manning..

If you analyze McNabb's performance this year:

16th in Pass Rating
14th in Passing Yards
17th in Passing Touchdowns

Gee, seems to me like RUSH WAS RIGHT.. Donovan McNabb _IS_ overated.

Are you guys going to offer anything to say in this topic that is even remotely accurate?

Actually it's amazing the Rush was able to come to that conclusion when you consider he was stoned out of his Gourd on Oxycotin!

I missed that first game. Sounds like was not my friend Jeff's best game (Center), he has had some off games before, is afterall human. Also rest of the line had to have bad game too, was it pocket break down and Manning getting eaten alive? I'm sure they'll highlight what happened before this Sunday's game.

McNabb has tremendous talent . . . and yes indeed many people were riding his fan wagon. But Limbaugh was still WRONG. It's the notion that McNabb's wagon was race-based is what got Rush in trouble. Limbaugh said the liberal media was pushing the black QB b/c they have an agenda . . . total BS.

Great hype has been ascribed to many but few have fulfilled the promise. The path from hero to hasbeen can be incredibly short. Maybe McNabb will achieve greatness but more likely he will join the ranks of wealthy, hyped pigskin flingers . . . and despite Rush rants . . . that fraternity is still mainly white. But there's a new sheriff in town . . . his name is Vick.

McNabb got off to a very very slow start this year...almost ranked dead last, in fact i think he WAS ranked dead last in qb ratings until after a few games then he got his act together after a few games and now the eagles are what? 12-4 and first place in their division? Mcnabb was there when it counted on the crucial downs from the games i saw. So because a guy has a pisspoor start which obviously effected his overall numbers, it gives some idiot loudmouth who obviously only goes by statistics to interject with some bs racial/political bs...that kinda crap really has no business in sports. fvck the fact that hes a republican...this isnt about partisan politics...why can't you just admit your conservative hero is not what he portrays himself to be. You defend Rush by bringing on meaningless statistics for Mcnabb this year. I disagree with Rush because he's an idiot, and not because hes your republican hero. Do you even really watch football or did you just get on nfl.com and copy some stats.

Personally I think that Jamal Lewis should be the MVP...the Ravens pretty much have no offense without him and the defense causing turnovers.

on a side note, practice what your preach Rush...go to the police and step inside that comfy jail cell. cuz after all, all drug abusers should be sent to prison right Rush?

Where do you idiots get this from? Please quote the date Rush stated all drug ABUSERS should be prison.. Just make stuff up to fit your story.. Besides, stating that someone ELSE is hyping a person because they are black is not racist.. he is accusing others of hyping based on race.. That does not make you a racist.. But, again, that doesn't fit your bigoted agenda...

Ok, you don't like stats from 2003.. How about career stats?

Career pass rating: 79.3

Average at best..

He's scored over 20 touchdowns just twice in his career.. and not in the last 2... Brett Favre who most would argue is near the end of his career has only thrown less than 20 touchdowns twice in his career (His first 2 he started).. Since 1999, Favre has thrown 133 TD's compared to McNabb's 87...

Favre has thrown for 18843 yards during that timeframe, comared to McNabbs 13051...

Is McNabb is truly a great quarterback, surely his numbers would be CLOSE to the numbers of a QB who is finishing up his career?

Don't think its fair to compare him to Favre? Ok, lets pick a different black QB.. how about Daunte Cullpepper?

90 TD's, 13800 yards passing, QB rating of 88.0

Seems like if McNabb is so great, Cullpepper is better...

How about another black QB? Aaron Brooks.. 12450 yards, 86 TD's... 82.1 passer rating.. Pretty close you say? Oops.. Brooks has only played 4 years and has stats just as good, or better than McNabb.. Seems like Brooks is better..

Fact is, McNabb is over rated, and his defense has carried him most of his career.

But, you guys will keep saying Rush is a racist for stating the truth, and questioning why they would hype a guy who has clearly poor numbers compared to other QB's in the league..

Vick, new Sheriff in town?! Are you saying that because he's black? (Oops, now I am a racist).. Vick:

Started only 28 of 48 games in past 3 years... thrown for 4306 yards in 3 years (THREE YEARS.. Favre has thrown for over that in 1 year) QB Rating of 76.3... He is injury prone (Perhaps because he relies in the run instead of the pass).. only has 22 Passing TD in 3 years.. Yeah, he is the FUTURE.. Atlanta has a total of 21 wins in the 3 seasons Vick has been on the team..

Umm.. no thanks.. I'll pass.
