Media center software NOT windows MCE

I have had nothing but head aches with windows XP MCE. Its having a slew of driver issues and i cant resolve them. windows XP standard doesnt have any of these problems. Does a program exist that serves the same function as the media center software for MCE but in a form i can add to just plain XP Pro? Some thing that will be viewable on my TV from my couch?
 
I don't understand why you would have driver issues with MCE and not regular XP Pro. MCE is pretty much just XP Pro SP2 with the Media Center extension. *shrug*
