Media center in XP?

How in the hell do you stream from a windows xp computer to a xbox 360? I tried installing the WMP 11 and it wouldn't install, it said I needed a update so I looked for the update downloaded it and it wouldn't install.

Any kind of help would be nice I am sure some of you guys have had to do this before. If a upgrade to windows 7 is mandatory then that's that. I am trying to do this for my neighbor and i cannot figure it out.

Why wouldn't WMP11 install? What errors where you getting?

It wouldn't install wmp11. It said it needs a windows update first. I searched for windows updates then it said to validate windows. I clicked on validate and it said it couldn't validate windows.

It's a store bought hp pc running win xp. It has a athlon x2 3800 in it so the windows has to be legit I would think. The neighbors aren't into illegal shit at all so I don't see why it won't work.

I know when I did it with my pc and win 7 it worked fine but in xp it won't. I will fool with it again later today...

You need to validate and get WMP11. That is how you do it. Plain and simple.
If your (their) version wont validate call MS.
