I came across the chart below and thought others might be interested as well. The rankings look reasonable to me...but I'm sure some may find their "trusted" news sources to be a little more biased than they imagined. My favorite line from the article is..."If you look at this chart and are convinced your “extreme” source belongs in the middle, you just might be part of the problem plaguing America today."

How biased is your news source? You probably won’t agree with this chart

Unsurprising how most on the right are far right and most on the left are moderately left. Most on the far left I’ve never heard nor ever seen cited on here except one that I myself labelled as a conspiracy site in another thread earlier this morning. The ones on the right are viewed as completely legitimate sources by a huge section of the right and cited all the time.

I’d be curious how they determined their rankings.

Move it over one block to the left and i'd agree. I'm proud to be part of the problem plaguing America today and we should all do what we can for the benefit of our country.
 
I pretty much agree with it. Expected CNN to be a little higher. I don't know them to run incomplete stories and when they make mistakes they own up to it.

The position of Fox News is right about where I expected. Wondering how loyal Fox viewers will react? If their FB posts bitching about Chris Wallace every time he tries to be somewhat neutral are an indicator, they will claim this entire chart is "fake news".

Wondering how they define "conservative" and liberal" reporting. If a story puts a conservative in a bad light is it automatically labeled liberal? Example, the story of Trump lying about his inaugural attendance. Is that a liberal story? If so, why??
 
I watch Shepard smith on fox, he seems to very neutral. Sometime I get bored of watchinging CNN or MSNBC and their 24/7 breaking news on one item. Its funny I turn to fox because IF the news is negative about trump they barely mention it so I can get some other news. I also watch Rachel a bit cause I like her style of storytelling the news. But NPR is the best no commercials and in depth stores, they don't linger on a single story and have 6 panellist/pundits in to argue about.

It's really depending on who is hoisting. I find that chart reasonably accurate. But I would slide CNN up a bit up. I sure Miss Aljazair for international news, yea I can watch on online I just liked sitting on the couch flipping through channels.

I think this person's distribution is mostly in line with my perception but it's important to note that it's not based on any objective or quantitative methodology so it's basically just someone's opinion, albeit one that seems to be the result of a fair amount of work. This kind of ranking is highly susceptible to someone's own biases.

I love how Shepard Smith will sometimes call Fox out on their own bullshit. I agree with you about CNN. Can't stand that everything is "Breaking News" crap. It will be breaking news when they don't have breaking news.
 
That looks pretty reasonable to me. I'd probably shift The Washington Times down a bit, but maybe they have better articles that I don't see.

I was thinking the same thing. I frequently see people reference at least four of the ones on the far-bottom right, but I've never even heard of any of the far-bottom left. I'm sure there are The Blaze level nonsense sites on the left, but I don't see people pointing to them as legitimate sources.

What I want to know wasn't listed. I need to know how biased I am when I read whatever news I am reading. Information is useless to me if I don't know how brainwashed I am when I read it. How can I know it is actually me that's the problem when it is obvious that all of the sources you listed are skewed so far to the right?

I notice also that MSNBC and FOX NEWS are often used as counterparts even though they are two triangles away and MSNBC, which deals almost exclusively with political news is described as fair opinion.

I forgot who the comedian was but it was at the White house correspondent dinner and he was making fun
about everything being breaking news at CNN.

This is a very good point. While the left certainly has its own kooky websites they are actually fringe elements that are largely ignored. I would be hard pressed to find any credible Democrat citing Patribotics (what is that?) or the Palmer Report but I can easily find dozens, hundreds, or more prominent Republicans routinely citing Breitbart, the Daily Caller, etc. 'Damaging nonsense' has become part of what conservatives actually believe. Much, much less so for Democrats.

The fact Fox constantly complains about the big 3 networks who are at the top of the hill proves Fox belongs all the way in the red.

While I agree in large part with your post...it's also surprising that so many liberals flock to HuffPo and Daily KOS for their "news".
 
Pretty sure this chart is a bit old (just like a year or so) though maybe it's been updated too.
Nothing really shocking here. it is quite telling how the left-oriented news sites tend to be more towards the moderate end of the spectrum, but the right-oriented news sites tend to be towards they hyper end of the spectrum. But yeah #fakenews
