Another interview with Patrick Liu. Interestingly, in this one he mentions MOH will have a "much greater variety of game modes" than BFBC2 (@ 1:10), which has 4.

anyone order this through any of the pre-order methods,(Steam, EA download, amazon etc) get it loaded yet or receive a Beta code?

I ordered it through Steam but if another method gets me the Beta faster I'll switch

This game looks interesting. Looking forward to see some impressions on the beta but i'm just not ready to give steam my 60$ 4 months in advance just to get a couple weeks of beta action.

I pre-ordered from GameStop two days ago, Online with free day of release shipping (code "E310"). The GameStop site says they will start e-mailing beta codes for online orders today. Nothing yet. :\

Looks like MOH site is still hosed, anyway. On the bright side, the client will be downloaded from FilePlanet in less than 10 minutes.

gunclub.ea.com doesn't seem to have a part in this at all. It's working fine.

Got my client and code but the site to redeem code is hit or miss. Sometimes get in and enter the code then it crashes again

Is anyone playing and noticing how completely shitty the menus are? Half the time they dont even work.

Yeah, I noticed that. Most of the time you can't click on something to activate it. You have to highlight it then click yes or no or whatever down at the bottom of the screen. The gameplay is actually pretty good to be honest. I got to play for a few hours last night before bed. Not bad at all.

Same server situation as Battlefield Bad Company 2. It has dedicated servers, but you have to rent them. You can't run a server on your own machine. yet.

the game plays very arcadish, i don't think i'll be buying this one. if i want to play this type of game i'd rather play MW or MW2 as they do the better job.

So IGN says this game should be a good compromise between those who like BC2 and those who like MW2...but from that footage it looks like there are no destructible environments. Thoughts?

it plays more like MW2 than BC2. it kinda feels like a freeware version of MW to be honest. however it's just way too arcady, i guess its made more with consoles in mind. there is almost no recoil from guns, especially AK47 which should have sizable recoil. it reminds me of combat arms, tbh.

Destruction is definately minimized, I believe partially for performance reasons, partially because DICE wants it to be one of Battlefield's hallmarks.

That said, I watched some of that justin.tv last night and saw him incrementally chipping away at a wooden fence with gun fire.

DICE had a very unique thing going with the BF franchise... huge expansive maps with sandbox play... but they got too jealous of MW's success and decided to consolize BF...
