Yeah, I can't wait until this mod is released. It's been too long since the last good mechwarrior game came out (MW2: Mercenaries).

Don't forget that one of the original Battletech designers, Jordan Weisman, did get the licensing rights back from Microsoft. So maybe another Battletech game will be coming someday.

Well, even though it's a mod it's still nice to know that there's a new MW to play. It's been kind of hard to get along with the fact that MW3 won't work well with XP.

YES, there hasn't been a decent western mech game since MW4: Mercenary, though i'm surprised that it is coming in the form of a crysis mod.

I'm not, Crysis certainly has the environment for a mech game. You could even show mechs being air dropped realistically in the game engine.

I dont know. Some of these modding groups are more reliable than the game makers themselves at times. There are some very talented people out there with time and passion to do things others wouldnt bother to do. Time will tell though.

I doubt they'll be affected anymore than the dozen or so star wars mods I know about.

They may have permission to make the mod. If they make a great game it'll only be good for the person/company that actually owns the game rights. It wouldnt surprise me if they got job offers if the mod is a success.

Seriously, I have to say its likely to die off before its worthwhile having a good go of.

But.... damn, it really does start to show you how graphically immersive the Battletech Universe can be and how adapative the Crysis game engine can be.

Very interesting. I'll bet it would run passably on an 8800GT and a dual core. I certainly hope so, because I'm not going to run out and upgrade just for this, but I would like to see how it turns out.

Yeah, it s a shame there isnt a stand alone game for it. Maybe that'd be too hard for them to pull off or part of some agreement they may have with the franchise owner for multiplayer only? Who knows. A shame though.

Well, the crymod thread on it hasn't been updated since the beginning of april. There are several other interesting total conversion mods in progress on crymod, but I doubt any of them will be playable any time soon.
