Mechanical Desktop Problems on WinXP

I just upgraded to winxp from win2k. I then tried to run mechanical desktop but it start to give me problems so I uninstalled but can't install it now because it keeps telling me that the product can only be installed on win98, nt, or 2k but not winxp. A friend of mine told me that winxp has a win98 mode or something like that, however, I don't know how to access it. So I have two questions:
1) Does anyone know if there is any way I can install it on winxp?
2) Does anyone know how to switch to win98 mode or there's nothing as win98 mode?
Thank you.

Your friend is referring to Windows XP's "compatability mode".. find the setup file and right click it. Go to Properties. Click the "Compatablity" tab, and you can probably figure it out from there.

I don't know if it will work or not..
