Meat.

Meat is goooood. I'm still trying to figure out all the ways I'm gonna cook the 50 pounds of venison thats in my freezer.

I'm thinking jerky and fried deersteak at the moment, but who knows...

So are glue and shoes, and firewood, and fur coats, and guitars, and computers, and insecticides, and crude oil refineries, and pollution, and automobiles, and hair care products, and science, and God, and pants, and...well you get the point.

firing up the grill?

The chickens and top roast will be smoked somewhere between 10 and 12 hours. The roast will, of course, first be brined and then given a nice dry rub. The chickens will just get a rub.

The wings, ribs, and brats will get the grill, of course. The ribs will go on first to slow cook for a couple hours before I crank the heat to finish them and toss on the rest.

The ground chuck will be meatballed and then slow cooked in the crock. I'm doing those in a cranberry bar-b-que sauce.

And now I'm drooling.

no. meat is not murder and neither are any of those things.

murder - the unlawful premeditated killing of another human being by another
2 - an unlpeasant, troublesome, or dangerous state of affairs (it was murder here on Saturday)
3 - utterly defeat or spoil by a bad performance, mispronunciation, etc. (murdered the soliloquy in the second act)

Amen... we had another good gathering this year. Got about 350lbs of venison in the freezers. Deer sausage, hamburger, summer sausage, cube steak and backstraps... every bit sooooo delicious 😀
