Know the Town well ;o)

I'm gonna steel your PIC and post it in Laverda Forums - Hope you don't mind.

My small town coworker told me that all small towns have three things: church, LCBO, Beer Store.

And a Legion hall.

I've been to a few places where the LCBO is tucked into the back of a gas station. That's how you know you're way up in the boonies.

i hope canada doesn't get it's beer sold in variety stores.

there is nothing like the familiarity of the big brown brick building and the glowing orange sign.

There are convince stores open 24/7 in Northern Ontario that have a LCBO License but few and far between (Old Trapping Licenses). Have you noted the Grocery Stores are about to legally sell Beer.

I haven't researched at all, but I read somewhere that there will only be a finite number of licenses available, so it won't be a free for all? Heard complaints about how only big stores would be able to "win" a license.

wow.

i am genuinely shocked.

i thought ontario would rather die than give up its monopoly on booze.

The Libs like to throw the occasional bone to make you forget about all the bad/corrupt stuff they've done.

I suspect beer sales don't generate that much revenue for the LCBO because of the Beer Store. Since they're owned by the three mega breweries, they've been pretty shitty towards craft brewers. This will allow smaller companies to get their products into retail.

Remember the government still collects tax on any alcohol sold, which is going up.

Your probably thinking about Mulroney and AirBus - LOL - I don't why he isn't in jail - Not that that I'm Anti-Lib, other somewhat Anti- Queens Park and Hog Town.

So much corruption. Let's not get started with the gas plant. Multi billion dollar of tax dollars wasted. Not to mention the environmental impact of such a large project, only to scrap it.

There's a few of these around here as well, i can think of 2 withing 15 minutes of my place, mainly for the small communities to far from a real store.
