I played last night. Unlocked the Krogan Vanguard and Harpoon Sniper Rifle in different Spectre Packs for the regular 60K credits. There's also the Premium Spectre Pack for 90K creds, but I never buy those. So, other than new maps and the possibilities for new characters and weapons in the Spectre packs, everything else is operating as normal, so far as I've seen.
Haven't tried the Harpoon rifle yet. The Krogan Vanguard is...interesting. I solo'd Bronze Cerberus last night with him fine, but got my ass whooped with a squad against Silver Geth whenever Pyros or Hunters were around. Still, I think he's maybe the best Krogan for straight up tanking.
The charge recharge time is long, and he doesn't possess other powers to make a biotic combination. My strategy with him so far has been to ignore carnage and max everything else out. The purpose of being able to charge in and melee the shit outta enemies, while using barrier to reduce damage taken as much as possible. Charge has the +25% melee dmg after successful charge. Combined with melee based rage he definitely deals major damage, and can take some punishment with his barrier.
