I've never understood why they say "My wife and I are pregnant", this doesn't make any sense, SHE is pregnant, and you're the one who knocked her up...

Congratulations!

Want some advice? Skip this if you don't.

Look into nutrition and do's & don'ts right away if you haven't already.
Get some personal recommendations on a good gyn/obt right away.
Then look for a good pediatrician.
Realize that for the most part, you're the ones who are going to make the biggest difference.
Take a course on childbirth eventually.
Prepare if you can for the sacrifices to come, and hear that the rewards are actually greater.
Involve your parents and her parents.
Realize that it's been done billions of times already, and the available mechanisms are sophisticated and resilient, you can figure most of the rest for yourselves, but you probably can't figure out some of these (esp. the first points here) by yourselves without help.

I'm a semi-reluctant dad. I gave my wife a lecture on overpopulation and adoption, etc. at the beginning (she didn't buy it). After several years, and some sacrifices, I've come to realize that having a child, while not validating or providing meaning to my life or any such nonsense by itself, has actually made me happy.
