ME Shutdown

I hope someone out there can help me with this annoying problem.I reinstalled WinME on my Aunts Gateway computer.Everything is working fine except the shutdown procedure.I installed the ME shutdown patch,but to no avail.It just sits there powered up and the monitor goes black.Did anyone out there have this same problem,and what was the fix?Thanks in advance.

 
Start >> Run >> msconfig

Click the advanced button

"Disable Fast Shutdown"

either check it if its not already checked
or uncheck it if it is.


this in most cases will fix the shutdown problem, if it doesn't.. then either hardware or a program that is running is preventing windows to shutdown.
