that's pretty much what it looks like. The pic doesn't do it justice, it looks really cool IRL. it looks like the thin beam goes all the way up to the stars, and the beam doesn't look like a solid line like that, it looks more like a fuzzy thin beam. I guess you had to be there to appreciate it's awesome beauty.

You can point out stars with it like pointing out things on a blackboard, it really looks like it goes that far even though it only goes like 15 miles or so. Plus it was a really clear night i wonder what it looks like in fog.

No the pic is real, but it was a long exposure, 15 seconds. Like I said the beam doesn't look that solid, it looks fuzzier IRL but it does look almost that bright even on a clear night. You can see in the other pic I'm getting 30mw, have you ever tried a 30mw 532nm green laser at night? Even on a clear night you can see the beam all the way up to the stars i kid you not.

No photochopping was done on this pic except unsharp mask to fix some blurriness due to it being slightly out of focus. My digicam's autofocus is pretty much useless in the dark.
