Geez people are you really that sensitive! Is it really that offending to you? I'm 1/2 Japanese and none of that garbage offends me. I'd like to think I'm above that nonsense. I've been called pretty much anything/everything you can call an asian. So what, they're only words. The person using those words are showing their ignorance. Don't lower yourself to that persons level and let them see that it offends you.

You're right Red, I apologize for the beloved patriot verbage.

But I just couldn't resist raising the dander of all the holier-than-thous that think that guys like Ching can go to an arena and talk sh!t to a guy trying to make a living and think their immune to repurcussions. He got as good as he gave. But it turned out he was just some wanker and had to go crying like a biatch to Sternturd. I'm sure Williams would have preferred that this ahole didn't search him out and subject him to the harrasment that he did!

chasm22, you are exavtly right Mr. Williams was at work and he was practicing his profession and as such Mr. Ching should have been arrested for entering Mr. Williams place of work and verbally harrasing him. Oh you don't think so, well then just enter any office building near you and start verbally harrasing anyone you like and see how long it takes you to get arrested! That analogy works both ways you know especially since yours wasn't even close to the situation.

It amazes me you people think it's OK to berate and verbally harrass athletes when they are at work but if someone came into your office building or factory and started verbally harrasing you then you'd want the boss to call the cops and have them arrested! Mr. Chings no different than the people on the internet that talk sh!t about what they would do to someone else but if they was face to face they'd tuck tail and run. I'm sure if it had been just the two of them on the street with no witnesses then Mr. Ching would be at home today with his autographed hat from Mr. Williams!

Like I said, 15 minutes of fame.

I'll assume most of the people defending JW is white. Have you guys ever been to a neighborhood where most of the residents are mostly a different race/culture (Harlem, Chinatown, etc.)? You're always aware (either actively or passively) that you're different from everyone else and you don't fit in perfectly. Well imagine feeling that EVERY single day of your life. Whenever someone makes a racist comment like JW did, you're reminded that no matter what people say about a "melting pot" in America, there's always some people that will look at you and think that you don't belong here and that hurts.

<< i think its unacceptable that fans are allowed to dish it out and very rarely if at all get thrown out but when the players dish it out they get fined/suspended >>

it's cuz the players are working at their job. (yea i want that job too). if you called a co worker an "effing awesome dude" or "effing beloved patriot" or somethin like that you would be in deep sh!t, right?

I can only add that I know for a fact how asians talk about other races amongst themselves. So I have very little pity for Ching.

How did the 'ching' guy expect the player to react? " oh thank you for your valuable insight" or what?

How did the 'ching' guy expect the player to react? " oh thank you for your valuable insight" or what? if the b-player had sought out Mr. ching and had verbally attacked him, then it would be extremely egregious behavior, BUT as a response to verbal abuse then there are mitigating circumstances.(whew, sounds legal and stuff)

Its amazing how people can generalize an entire race, and wonder why its so hard to get their point across. I was not aware that All asians were a certian way. I figured they all had personalities and stuff.

Unix: its amazing how everyone falls to the "generalization" argument when they dont have any real point. Generalizations are just that, it is not intended to say all asians just most of the ones I have had experience in dealing with. We all make these generalizations, and they are a perfectly legitimate personal view of the world. Only in our over-sensitive pansy ass society do we equate a generalization with some sort of race bashing.

I'm not white, and I still think Ching is some whiny Asian who wants some time in the spotlight. If he's really offended by some racial comments like that, I think he needs to go running to his mommy, not the newspapers or NBA.

JW can say whatever the hell he wants; I'm sure he's pretty comfortable in paying those pocket-change fines, and I would be too if I were in his situation.

Also, if I were JW, I wouldn't go apologizing to this whiny bastard either. Just pay the fine and keep on going.

And if he sees him in the next game, tell that whiny mother****** that his "fo-fo make sure all yo kids don't grow! Die slow!" - 2Pac

The world is full of too many oversensative, tree hugging, baby kissing, politically correct, sh1theads; Ching is one of them, and I see a few in this thread as well.

WRONG, stupid! Jason Williams is one of the biggest names in basketball. I know many looked up to him for his basketball skills. He was a decent role model...which meant he had some sort of responsibility, whether he liked it or not, to stay a decent role model. You must've been furiated when John Rocker got in trouble for his inability to keep his racist comments to himself

Also, if I were JW, I wouldn't go apologizing to this whiny bastard either. Just pay the fine and keep on going.
You're not Jason Williams. Stop dreaming, idiot

And if he sees him in the next game, tell that whiny mother****** that his "fo-fo make sure all yo kids don't grow! Die slow!" - 2Pac
Yea, let's create a utopia where if anyone has a problem, we cap their sorry ass. Dumbass

Let's hope you never bring a child into this world. No one wants a thick headed, immoral, racist brought up in this world. I can't stress this enough...but you're a Dumbass

DAMN STRAIGHT! Everyone knows that hispanics are lazy. Everyone knows that black people cannot be trusted. Everyone knows that asians are racist shop keepers. F8CK Affirmative action, everybody should just go back to "where they came from". Generalizations rule! If everybody generalized, there'd be less crime, because we would stay away from vietnamese, mexican, and african-american dominated towns. You damn, dumbass racist.

No, Jason Williams is an athlete. I don't think he signed a sheet of paper saying "Now that you are a pro player, you must stop being yourself and censor yourself on and off the court." As for John Rocker, I don't care what he said because it has no impact on his ability as an athlete. He's a good baseball player who said the wrong thing at the wrong time. Whoop-tee-doo.

And when Jason Williams apologizes to this Asian asshole, you can notify the world. But that'll never happen, idiot ;).

Hey Damascus, lets create a world where people don't have large cumbersome objects up their ass. We'll start by removing yours SuperGroove.

Maybe you'd like to take a lesson in Life 101, and learn that everyone isn't Mr. Glad To Be Your Neighbor.

Generalization? How about the fact that in this world, you have a small amount of smart people, a large amount of stupid people, and you, sir, fit into the latter.

SG: thank you for that display of ignorance, now please be quiet while adults are talking. FYI, I am a first generation american, and also I am in an interracial marriage. Yep you have me pegged, I am a "dumbass racist".

i will bet money Jason Williams also belongs in the latter, koldklock.

For the reconrd, affirmitive action should be destroyed. If you too dumb to be in college, but you are asian, black, mexican, etc, you shouldne be let in.

gosh.,..what a thread!

i think Ching is a wuss. He started to berate JW, and JW did it back to him. While I don't agree w/what JW said, that is their business.

Ching dished out the insults, but couldn't take the heat when it came back to him. WUSS.

And yes, I am Chinese. I am not offended by JW comments because he simply stated them out of anger and frustration - how many of u guys have said things out of anger, and realize that they were idiotic comments?

You're absolutely correct. Once you become a star, f*ck the world...you don't need them to support you. YOU'RE A MILLIONAIRE! Dumbass

<< You're not Jason Williams. Stop dreaming, idiot >>

The fan was an idiot. This doesn't justify what Williams said. When I play ball in Aurora, I don't yell, "F8CK YOU N8GGA! That ish is f8ckin ill!" I do, I die. Maybe you're too sheltered to realize the significance of using racial terms.

<< Yea, let's create a utopia where if anyone has a problem, we cap their sorry ass. Dumbass >>

Hey Damascus, lets create a world where people don't have large cumbersome objects up their ass. We'll start by removing yours SuperGroove.
Fist of all...Damascus was a city referenced in the Bible. So it isn't funny when you're trying to take Dumbass, and trying to make me sound like a holier than though prick. Second, you're a dumbass when you think you're being a smart ass, when in reality no one gives a flying f*ck about you trying to redeem yourself. If you don't care, don't post. Dumbass

Maybe you'd like to take a lesson in Life 101, and learn that everyone isn't Mr. Glad To Be Your Neighbor.
Hey, maybe I got beat up simply because I was Asian? Maybe some stores(Sears, Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack, Toys R Us, Kay Bee Toy Store, Foleys, Dillards, Nordstromsm, Home Depot, Eagle Hardware etc. etc) have refused to help me because of my race. So if you're trying to say I've lived a sheltered live, you need to stop assuming sh*t because, later on in life, you'll realize that when in a tough situation, you can't say the same things you say when posting from your PC. Dumbass

Generalization? How about the fact that in this world, you have a small amount of smart people, a large amount of stupid people, and you, sir, fit into the latter.
Hey cool...what we should do is have MASS genocide. We should kill everybody that is stupid. If that's me, so be it. But when I do, there's going to be more divisions. The extremely smart...and the almost as smart. Sooner or later, you'll get yours too. Dumbass.

If you feel that this gives you a reason to generalize, go ahead.

<< if the shoe fits, dont be so over-sensitive. >>

That's a nice quote...I think I'll use that

SG, my comment on college was because that is where it stemmed from. Colleges first adapted AA. At least, from what i am told, that is true.

iamwiz82, you're probably right. I bet I'm in that category according to some, and so are you according to others.

I just wish this thread wasn't plagued with so many pansies.

Anyone ever watch any of the George Carlin specials on HBO? When George spat out a list of racial slurs, I hit the floor laughing.

Then he followed up by saying something pretty smart: it's not the word that should be offensive, it's the context in which it is used.

So if I'm playing ball, and a black guy hits me, I'm allowed to say, "n*gga...that hurt...but good shot. So essentially there's ways you can use racial terms in church, because it's obviously okay in George Carlin's eyes...and times where we can't? Where do we draw the line?

SG: your problem is you dont realize that EVERYONE generalizes all the time. I bet you believe that you have no prejudice in yourself either. But for your benefit I will fully qualify my statement. In my experience, and only my experience, acting upon my own discoveries, in a non-formal, un-documented personal survey, i have found that most of the Korean/Japanese people I have had extensive dealings with, talked down to, or berated blacks/whites when the topic presented itself in conversation. This is usually done in a language other than english, right in front of the person they might be talking about. For further clarification, I am not talking about ALL asians in ALL circumstance, only my personal experience, which has been limited to probably 5 or 6 thousand individuals.
