The hard drive never stops spinning! Doesn't matter what programs I have open or what programs I close. This thing is getting HOT. Any ideas?

That's a good thing,if your hard drive stops spinning then it's dead.
 
I had the same problem with Windows ME. Never could figure it out. I upgraded (reformat and clean install) to Windows XP Pro. No further problem.
 
Yes, i've actually stopped all running programs and it keeps going and going and going...


Looks like I'll probably have to do a clean install of 2000 Pro. Didn't want to bother with it (too lazy), oh well.
 
Hey Whipping Boy,

I just got a 4000 from work and my display looks horrible! It's weird, all the pictures and stuff looks okay, but the text always seems a little blury. I have played with every setting imaginable. Maybe I have a cheap display (not sure how to tell) or the ME drivers for this ATI chipset is no good!

Any ideas?

I had the same problem on my Thinkpad with Win2k pro. I upgraded to XP and the problem went away.

Maybe it was Win2k uploading my HD to M$. 😀
