ME doesn't display Explorer correctly

While reinstalling Windows ME on a friend's computer, all was well until we downloaded and installed all the Updates.

Now, when we launch Explorer, the left window is gray with an "X" up in its upper right corner. I have run into this before with ME, but forgot what the solution was.

Anybody remember??????

Looks like going to Internet Explorer in Add/Remove programs and running a repair should solve your issue.

I gave that a try (forgot to mention it in the first note), but that didn't do any good at all. This is a problem that seems to be particular to ME, but only AFTER doing updates. I solved it once, a few years ago, but don't remember what I did.

Thank you Unforgiven . . . I had already found that fix, gave it a try, and it didn't address my problem.
